Just a typical Saturday

As nap time approaches, I'm looking forward to a possible nap myself as the boys schedules will actually coincide today. First to go to bed is L and I'm wondering how long before a) he falls asleep and b) if he'll get out of bed. Luckily we have a SIDs monitor for the boys so we know if L gets out of bed. It's not long before the alarm goes off and only 10 minutes after C goes in for a nap. I run into L's room to find a shocked L grabbing one of his toys. I see how this afternoon is going to go. By the third time, I walk in to find a naked L standing in his bed. His diaper is in his bed along with his clothes and tid bits of a Pamper all over the room; and a pee spot right in front of him on the carpet. L says "Diaper burst." So I see. New plan: quiet time on the couch for 30 minutes (while I clean up). I'm just about to vacuum up the remnants when the doorbell rings and chaos ensues. Doorbell rings, the dog goes berserk barking, L calls out "Boy and Girl" repeatedly while jumping on the sofa and then, I hear C wake up. I answer the door to an Obama husband and wife asking me if I'm busy. I'm surprised I didn't slam the door in their face. What will this evening hold?

our doorbell doesn't work either - although I don't actually know that because the dogs bark whenever someone sets foot on our property (or, sometimes, even glances in this general direction from 100 feet away). Sometimes someone will sneak up while they are sleeping though.

I'm seriously thinking of getting a reversible sign for the front door: one says "accepting visitors" and the other one says "we're busy, please don't bother us right now (and maybe in little tiny letters: if you bother me now, there is no chance I'm listen to you/buying what you are selling. EVER.)". God help the person who disobeys my sign!

On second thought, maybe that sign should go on at the top of the driveway, near the street? Then, instead of "the lady with the dogs" I can be "the lady with the sign" :-) Is that worse? I don't know.
